The Uttarakhand Renewable Energy Development Agency (UREDA) has invited bids to empanel developers to commission 250 MW of grid-connected solar power projects under “Mukhyamantri Saur Swarojgar Yojana.”

The selected developers must also oversee the project’s comprehensive operation and maintenance for five years.

The last day to submit the bids is February 8, 2024. Bids will be opened the next day.

Bidders must submit a bid security amount of ₹1 million (~$12,030).

Under this program, solar projects of 20 kW, 25 kW, 50 kW, 100 kW & 200 kW capacity or as prescribed by UREDA will be installed in the state. The tentative capacity is around 250 MW.

The maximum benchmark rate of 1 kW solar project has been set at ₹50,000 (~$601)/ kW. However, the prices may be negotiated between the firms and the allottee.

Bidders should have a minimum of three years of experience in supplying, installing, commissioning, and maintaining on-grid solar power projects. This experience should include a cumulative capacity of at least 500 kW, achieved through either:

  • Installing and maintaining at least four on-grid solar power projects, each with a capacity of 25 kW or above or
  • Executing and maintaining a minimum of one on-grid solar power project with a capacity of 100 kW or above within the last three years.

Bidders must have an average annual turnover of a minimum of ₹10 million (~$120,308) during the last three financial years.

Only modules from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s Approved List for Models and Manufacturers must be used. The modules must be at least 300 W.

The predicted electrical degradation of power generated must not exceed 20% of the maximum rated power over the 25 years and not more than 10% after years of the full rated original output.

Last October, UREDA floated a tender for the empanelment of engineering, procurement, and construction contractors to install up to 4.5 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems and small solar power projects across the state.
