The Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has invited bids to implement 11 kW to 50 kW on-grid hybrid rooftop solar power projects with a battery backup on multiple government buildings across Uttar Pradesh. The project’s tentative capacity is 2 MW.

Bids must be submitted by March 28, 2025. Bids will be opened on March 29.

The project’s expected cost is ₹440 million (~$5 million).

Bidders must submit a tender fee of ₹11,800 (~$136.92) plus GST and an earnest money deposit of 2% of the estimated project cost.

Selected bidders must pay a performance security of 5% of the work order value.

The scope of work entails the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the project. It also includes providing operations and maintenance services for five years, which can be further extended by five years.

The project involves setting up module structures, inverters, batteries, DC/AC cabling and interconnections, lightning arrestors and earthing systems, battery, remote monitoring systems, and net metering. The per battery capacity must be 3,840 kWh.

Successful bidders must provide wiring from the projects to the distribution board. They must also complete the associated feasibility studies and civil work.

They must obtain all the approvals from the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation, distribution companies, and the electrical inspectorate. Successful bidders must only use solar modules and cells from the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers.

The project must be completed within four months of the work order issuance or as specified by UPNEDA.

Bidders must have an overall annual average turnover of ₹132 million (~$1.52 million) in the three best-performing years of the last five financial years.

Bidders must have continuously supplied and installed 600 kW rooftop solar projects in the last five financial years.

They must have a positive net worth on the last day of the preceding financial year.

Bidders can be single entities, joint ventures (JV), or consortiums of two or more firms as partners.

In January this year, the Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission approved UPNEDA’s revised tender to supply 3,205 MW of solar power to UPPCL under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan Component C2.
