Unique, Ingsol, Stockwell Win SECI’s 2.8 MW Rooftop Solar Auction

The winning tariffs ranged from ₹3.49/kWh to ₹4.53/kWh

Four companies have secured 2.8 MW of the 4.5 MW capacity auctioned by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for rooftop solar projects at educational institutions across Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Sikkim, Assam, and Manipur.

The tender was issued on April 1, 2025.

Only 2,825 kW of the tendered 4.5 MW was awarded.

Unique Sun Power won 1 MW of capacity for the rooftop solar project at the Central University of South Bihar, Gaya, at a tariff of ₹3.49 (~$0.0386)/kWh. It also secured 900 kW for the project at the Indian Institute of Technology, Patna, Bihar, at the same tariff.

Ingsol won a capacity of 400 kW for the rooftop solar project at the Indian Institute of Management, Raipur, Chhattisgarh, at a tariff of ₹3.82 (~$0.0422)/kWh. Stockwell Solar Services secured 525 kW of solar capacity for the project at the Central Institute of Technology, Kokrajhar, Assam, at a tariff of ₹4.53 (~$0.05)/kWh.

SECI's 2,825 kW Grid-Connected Rooftop Solar Projects under RESCO Mode: Auction ResultThe selected bidders must design, engineer, supply, store, undertake civil work, erect, test, and commission the solar projects. They must also provide operation and maintenance services for 25 years.

Successful bidders must use solar components that are compliant with the Indian Standards and the International Electrotechnical Commission requirements.

Only components from the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers must be used.

Recently, Enfros Solutions, Himalayan Solar, Stockwell Solar, and Sesola Power Projects won SECI’s auction to set up 6.25 MW rooftop solar projects across ten government institutions in six states.

Earlier this month, the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal issued an engineering, procurement, and construction tender to set up a 2 MW solar project on its premises on a turnkey basis.

In August this year, SECI issued a request for selection to set up 3,540 kW grid-connected rooftop solar projects at educational institutions in three states in the country’s northeastern region under the renewable energy services company mode (RTSPV-Tranche-II).
