Tata Power Records 20th Consecutive Quarter of Profit in Q2 FY 2025
The company clocked its highest-ever revenue, EBITDA, and PAT during 1H FY 2025

Tata Power, an integrated power company, reported a record-high quarterly profit after tax (PAT) of ₹15.33 billion (~$182.32 million) in the second quarter (Q2) of the financial year (FY) 2025, a 51% year-over-year (YoY) increase.
This was the 20th consecutive quarter of YoY profit growth for Tata Power.
Quarterly revenue stood at ₹152.47 billion ($1.81 billion), reflecting a slight 1% YoY decline.
However, earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) grew by 23% YoY to ₹38.08 billion (~$452.9 million) on the back of ramped-up solar manufacturing, favorable regulatory development in distribution, and operational efficiency across businesses.
The company has a ~12.4 GW renewable energy portfolio, including 6.5 GW in the pipeline.
Tata Power’s solar cell manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu initiated commercial production on a 2 GW solar cell line at its 4.3 GW solar cell and module manufacturing facility, with an additional 2 GW to be operational by November. The module plant reached a peak output of 20,000 modules per day in Q2 FY25.
The company also plans to commission 300 MW TOPCon line in Q4 FY25
First Half of FY25
For the first half of FY25, Tata Power reported its highest-ever half-yearly revenue, reaching ₹320.57 billion ($3.81 billion), up 5% YoY.
The company also achieved a record half-yearly profit after tax, up 41% YoY to ₹27.21 billion ($323.62 million), while EBITDA rose 17% to a new high of ₹71.58 billion (~$851.33 million).
Tata Power’s rooftop solar segment showed strong momentum, with an order book of approximately ₹6.84 billion (~$81.35 million). In this quarter alone, 111 MW of rooftop solar capacity was installed across various segments, contributing to 222 MW installed in the financial year to date.
The utility-scale solar division also reported strong performance, securing 370 MW in new orders worth nearly ₹15 billion (~$178.4 million) in Q2 FY25. Tata Power executed 261 MW of utility-scale projects during the quarter.
Tata Power reported its highest annual net profit of ₹42.8 billion (~$512.63 million), a jump of 12% YoY in FY24.
