Tata Power Trading Company (TPTCL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Power, has issued an expression of interest (EoI) for the procurement of up to 500 MW of renewable energy (solar, wind, hybrid, hydro) or green attributes up to 25 years.

The last date to submit the bids is January 31, 2025.

The bidder’s scope of work includes off-taking power/green attributes generated from solar, wind, hybrid renewable energy, and hydroelectric projects for the long term. The mode of procurement can be physical or virtual.

The delivery point will be at the interconnection between the project and the central transmission utility/state transmission utility network.

The minimum quantum is 10 MW with a contract period of 25 years.

The bidder can be a utility, a single company, or a group of companies putting up its intent for procurement of power.

The bidder’s net worth should at least be ₹100 million (~$1.16 million).

Further, depending on the power requirement, the net worth for the past three financial years should be the following:

  • 10 MW to 50 MW: ₹500 million (~$5.83 million)
  • 50 MW to 100 MW: ₹1 billion (~$11.66 million)
  • 100 MW to 200 MW: ₹2 billion (~$23.31 million)
  • 200 MW to 300 MW: ₹3 billion (~$34.97 million)
  • 300 MW to 400 MW: ₹4 billion (~$46.63 million)
  • 400 MW to 500 MW: ₹5 billion (~$58.28 million)

With the uncertainty associated with coal and gas prices, TPTCL intends to provide the end buyers a firm generation tariff from renewable energy sources for up to 25 years.

Tata Power Trading Company recently signed a power purchase agreement to supply 10.8 MW of wind power to Noida International Airport, with secured assets from Tata Power Renewable Energy group captive projects.
