					</table><p>India’s large-scale solar project pipeline <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/indias-large-scale-solar-pipeline-tops-200-gw" target="_blank" rel="noopener">crossed</a> a significant milestone, exceeding 200 GW for the first time, according to data from the Mercom India Renewable Energy Project Tracker. The milestone underscores the scale of project development underway across the country and reinforces the view that India’s target of 280 GW of installed solar capacity by 2030 is increasingly within reach.</p>
<p>The Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/punjab-lowers-additional-surcharge-for-open-access-power-consumers" target="_blank" rel="noopener">approved</a> an additional surcharge of ₹1.13 (~$0.013)/kWh for full open access consumers, including green energy open access consumers, availing power beyond their contract demand. The surcharge will apply from April 1, 2026, to September 30, 2026, to consumers within Punjab State Power Corporation’s (PSPCL) supply area procuring power through open access from sources other than PSPCL.</p>
<p>The Bihar Electricity Regulatory Commission <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/bihar-regulator-approves-tariff-for-275-mw-rooftop-solar-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">approved</a> the tariffs discovered through competitive bidding for procuring nearly 275 MW of rooftop solar power from about 250,000 Kutir Jyoti consumers across Bihar. The projects will be implemented by South Bihar Power Distribution Company and North Bihar Power Distribution Company under the Utility-Led Aggregation-cum-Renewable Energy Service Company model.</p>
<p>Rooftop solar is <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/khs-machinery-meets-65-of-power-needs-with-rooftop-solar-project" target="_blank" rel="noopener">gaining</a> traction among commercial and industrial consumers as businesses look to use existing factory space to cut electricity costs and reduce dependence on grid power. Germany-based KHS Machinery, an industrial equipment manufacturer, is expected to save ₹7.7 million (~$80,726.8) annually after installing a 750.2 kW rooftop solar project at its facility in Nandej, Gujarat.</p>
<p>The Solar Energy Corporation of India <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/seci-invites-bank-quotations-for-%E2%82%B98-billion-credit-facility" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> quotations from scheduled commercial banks for non-fund-based credit facilities aggregating up to ₹8 billion (~$83.98 million). The invitation seeks letters of credit, bank guarantees, and standby letters of credit.</p>
<p>NTPC <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/ntpc-floats-om-tender-for-20-mw-solar-project-in-gujarat" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids for two years of operation and maintenance (O&amp;M) of its 20 MW solar project at the Jhanor Gandhar Gas Power Plant in the Bharuch district of Gujarat. The project is connected to the grid through a 220 kV system. The estimated cost of the contract is ₹27.85 million (~$299,700), including 18% goods and services tax.</p>
<p>The Department of Power, Nagaland, <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/nagaland-invites-bids-for-1-65-mw-rooftop-solar-systems" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids to install 1.65 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems at village council halls under the Chief Minister’s Community Solar Partnership Initiative. The Initiative is a part of the Nagaland Solar Mission. The last date to submit bids is June 24, 2026. Bids will be opened the following day.</p>
<p>Military Engineer Services <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/military-engineer-services-floats-om-tender-for-6-mw-solar-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids for the comprehensive O&amp;M of 4 MW and 2 MW solar projects at the Army area in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The last date to submit bids is July 11, 2026. Bids will be opened on July 13.</p>
<p>Hitachi Energy India announced plans to <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/hitachi-energy-india-to-invest-%E2%82%B920-billion-in-vadodara-transformer-factory" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invest</a> ₹20 billion (~$209.91 million) to establish a new large power transformer factory in Karjan, Vadodara, Gujarat. The facility will add manufacturing capacity for large power transformers used in transmission networks and other high-voltage power applications.</p>

<p>Germany-based KHS Machinery (<a href="https://www.khs.com/en/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">KHS Group</a>), an industrial equipment manufacturer, is expected to save ₹7.7 million (~$80,726.8) annually after installing a 750.2 kW rooftop solar project at its facility in Nandej, Gujarat.</p>
<p>KHS manufactures filling and packaging systems for the beverage industry.</p>
<p>The company now meets 60-65% of its power needs through the rooftop solar system.</p>
<p>The rooftop solar project is expected to generate nearly 1.1 million units of electricity annually, with average daily and monthly generation of approximately 3,000 kWh and 90,000 kWh, respectively.</p>
<p>The rooftop solar system is expected to yield a payback within three years.</p>
<p>The project was commissioned by Gujarat-based rooftop installer, <a href="https://www.maliburenewables.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Malibu Renewables,</a> in February 2026.</p>
<p>The rooftop system uses <a href="https://rayzonsolar.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rayzon Solar</a>’s 550 Wp Mono PERC bifacial solar modules and five units of 125 kW <a href="https://polycab.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Polycab&#8217;s</a> inverters.</p>
<p>KHS Machinery opted for a rooftop solar installation as it enabled the company to use its existing infrastructure without the necessity of using additional land.</p>
<p>The company said it plans to expand its rooftop solar capacity and might evaluate installing a battery energy storage system if current solar generation does not meet its needs.</p>
<p>Malibu Renewables, which executed the project, said the installation presented engineering challenges as it was carried out on an exposed truss structure. The project required installation on column-less structures and the erection of floating walkways to ensure no additional weight was added to the roof.</p>
<p>Malibu Renewables also <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/fabric-manufacturer-g-m-syntex-saves-%E2%82%B940-million-annually-by-going-solar" target="_blank" rel="noopener">commissioned</a> a 3 MW rooftop solar project for Maharashtra-based textile fabric manufacturer G.M. Syntex in February this year.</p>
