<p>Taypro led the country’s shipments of robotic solar module cleaning equipment, accounting for 27.5%.</p>
<p>Langfang Sol-Bright New Energy Technology and Airtouch Solar followed, accounting for 18.8% and 13%, respectively. Vayu Solar and LEAPTING rounded off the top five, with 11.1% and 9.8% market shares, respectively.</p>
<p>The top five companies shipped over 80% of the cleaning equipment used in the solar projects during the year.</p>

<p>Robotic cleaning enhances the performance of solar panels and energy output. This method proves far more effective than traditional manual water-based cleaning, ensuring higher efficiency of modules. Periodic removal of dust and corrosive substances helps modules extend their lifespan and optimize generation.</p>
<p>In 2024, several entities floated tenders for the comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&amp;M) totaling around 340 MW of ground-mounted and rooftop solar projects. The scope of work of these projects includes regular cleaning of solar modules.</p>
<p>All of the top five robotic cleaning companies experienced a significant year-over-year (YoY) rise in shipments.</p>
<p>In 2024, Taypro supplied its module cleaning equipment to a 360 MW solar project in Rajasthan.</p>
<p>Sol-Bright supplied module cleaning equipment to the 3.5 GW Khavda Solar Project in Gujarat.</p>
<p>Airtouch Solar announced in April 2024 that it had secured a $6 million order from Adani Green Energy (<a href="https://www.adanigreenenergy.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">AGEL</a>) to supply robotic dry cleaning equipment in Rajasthan. In October 2024, Airtouch Solar received an order from <a href="https://www.junipergreenenergy.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Juniper Green Energy</a> for the supply and installation of robotic cleaning equipment for a solar project in Rajasthan.</p>
<p>Vayu Solar supplied its module cleaning equipment to a 200 MW solar project in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh.</p>

<p>LEAPTING led the country’s robotic solar module cleaning equipment shipments, accounting for 22.5%. Vayu Solar and Airtouch Solar followed, accounting for 20.8% and 16.6% respectively. Aegeus Technologies and Langfang Sol-Bright Photovoltaic Technology rounded off the top five, with 10.1% and 8.4% market shares, respectively.</p>
<p>The top five companies shipped 78.3% of the cleaning equipment used in the country’s solar projects during the first half of the year.</p>

<p>Robotic solar module cleaning equipment helps maintain the efficiency and performance of the solar modules cost-effectively by removing dust, dirt, bird droppings, and other debris that can accumulate on the surface of solar panels, reducing their ability to absorb sunlight and generate electricity.</p>
<p>LEAPTING’s shipment grew 1,528% compared to 1H 2023. Vayu Solar’s shipments rose 977.1% year-over-year, and in 1H 2024, Vayu Solar supplied its module cleaning equipment to a 200 MW solar project in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh.</p>
<p>Shipments by Airtouch Solar were up 900% YoY. Airtouch Solar announced that it had secured a $6 million order from Adani Green Energy (<a href="https://www.adanigreenenergy.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">AGEL</a>) to supply robotic dry cleaning equipment for AGEL’s project in Rajasthan.</p>
<p>Aegeus raised an undisclosed amount in 1H 2024 from Caspian Debt for its working capital requirements and business expansion.</p>

Robotic Solar Module Cleaning Equipment Market Leaders in 1H 2024

<p><a href="https://www.airtouchsolar.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Airtouch Solar</strong></a><strong> has signed a contract with ReNew Power to supply water-free robotic cleaning systems for three of the latter&#8217;s solar photovoltaic units in Rajasthan to be commissioned by early 2022.</strong> The contracts include the supply, setting up, testing, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of Airtouch robotic cleaning systems for 25 years and are valued at $7.6 million. The robotic cleaning systems for ReNew&#8217;s solar projects will be supplied from Airtouch&#8217;s production plant in Israel and the company&#8217;s manufacturing plant in India that is currently being established.</p>

<p><strong>Pharmaceutical company </strong><strong>MSD, a Merck subsidiary, has </strong><a href="https://www.msd.com/news/msd-accelerates-climate-goals-announces-carbon-neutrality-in-operations-by-2025/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>announced</strong></a><strong> that it will achieve carbon neutrality across its operations by 2025 and a 30% reduction in its value chain emissions by 2030.</strong> These goals are aligned with science and build on MSD&#8217;s long-standing focus on preventing the worst impacts of climate change and supporting the global effort to achieve the Paris Agreement goals by reducing demand for energy and minimizing greenhouse gas emissions. MSD is also accelerating by 15 years its previous 2040 goal to source 100% renewable energy for its purchased electricity.</p>

<p><strong>The Commercial Bank of Ceylon</strong><strong> has become Sri Lanka&#8217;s first </strong><a href="https://www.combank.lk/newweb/en/news/8-news-and-events/posts/1402-combank-becomes-sri-lanka-s-first-carbon-neutral-bank" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>carbon-neutral</strong></a><strong> bank.</strong> It has achieved carbon neutrality for the entirety of its operations, encompassing all 268 branches and its head office. A total of 13 emission sources covering both direct and indirect emission sources of the bank were considered for this analysis by Climate Smart Initiatives. Additionally, the Sri Lanka Climate Fund operating under the Ministry of Environment performed an independent third-party verification in accordance with the ISO 14064-3-2018 guidelines and awarded ISO 14064 certificate to the bank.</p>
