South Western Railway Invites Bids for 2,150 kW Rooftop Solar Systems

The Hubli Division-Electrical of the South Western Railway has invited bids for grid-connected rooftop solar systems with a cumulative capacity of 2,150 kW at railway stations, residences, and level crossing gates.

The last date to submit the bids is October 18, 2024.

The tender has an advertised value of ₹15.85 million (~$189,096).

Bidders must pay an earnest money deposit of ₹942,700 (~$11,246).

The projects must be completed within nine months.

The scope of work covers the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the on-grid rooftop solar systems.

Bidders will be responsible for the comprehensive annual maintenance contract of the solar systems with net metering and having varying capacities. The contract will commence from the fourth year of the projects’ commissioning.

Bidders must have a minimum average annual contractual turnover of V/N or V, whichever is less, where V = the advertised value of the tender in rupees and N = the number of years prescribed for completion of the work.

The lead member must meet at least 51% of the financial eligibility criteria if the bidder is a joint venture.

Besides work experience certificates issued by a government organization, work experience certificates issued by a publicly listed company having a minimum average annual turnover of ₹5 billion (~$59.64 million) in the last three financial years, excluding the current financial year, will be considered.

Bidders should have completed any one of the following categories of work(s) during the last seven years:

  • Three similar works, each costing not less than the amount equal to 30% of the advertised value of the tender
  • Two similar works, each costing not less than the amount equal to 40% of the advertised value of the tender
  • One similar work costing not less than the amount equal to 60% of the advertised value of the tender

Similar work involves the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of a solar power system with a capacity of at least 5 kW.

Earlier, the Hubli Division-Electrical of the South Western Railway invited bids for grid-connected rooftop solar projects with a cumulative capacity of 62.99 MW at railway stations, residences, and level crossing gates.
