The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has updated the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) for solar modules, adding a capacity of 6,922 MW. The cumulative capacity of modules under ALMM now stands at 116,467 MW.
Gautam Solar added 2,372 MW to increase its capacity from 852 MW to 3,224 MW. Bluebird Solar’s capacity rose from 106 MW to 819 MW, increasing by 713 MW.
Goldi Sun (Goldi Solar) expanded its capacity from 3,912 MW to 4,522 MW, and Rayzon Solar from 3,006 MW to 3,406 MW. Jakson Engineers added 85 MW to reach 1,209 MW, and Emmvee Energy added 12 MW to achieve a capacity of 3,276 MW. The total additional capacity from these listings amounts to 4,192 MW.
Four new manufacturing facilities with a total capacity of 2,730 MW were added to the list. Solitech Green Energy has been added with a capacity of 1,321 MW using TOPCon technology. Surana Solar has been listed with 174 MW capacity using Mono PERC/TOPCon, while Suryanand Solar Cluster Association has been added with 33 MW of Mono PERC capacity.
Insolation Green Energy’s third manufacturing unit, also using TOPCon technology, added 1,202 MW, bringing the company’s total listed capacity across three units to 2,013 MW.
India’s solar module manufacturing capacity under the ALMM reached the 100 GW milestone in August 2025, up from just 2.3 GW in 2014.
In September this year, MNRE updated the ALMM for solar modules, adding 9,326 MW of capacity and bringing the cumulative capacity to 109,545 MW.
In the same month, the government proposed mandating the use of India-made wafers under the ALMM starting June 1, 2028. The amendment requires all projects falling under ALMM’s purview to source their modules from ALMM List-I mandatorily. Such modules must also use solar cells from the ALMM List-II. The cells, in turn, must use wafers from the ALMM List-III.
