SJVN has invited bids to install a cumulative capacity of 5,830 kW of grid-connected rooftop solar power systems.

These projects will be installed on Union Government buildings across several states, including the National Capital Territory of Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan. The initiative is being carried out under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana and follows the RESCO (Renewable Energy Service Company) model.

The last date for the submission of bids is October 16, 2024. Bids will be opened the same day.

The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) has appointed SJVN as the Scheme Implementation Partner to help implement grid-connected rooftop solar projects for government buildings and assets.

This initiative covers 18 Union Ministries/Departments, including their autonomous bodies, subordinate offices, and central public sector enterprises across India, as part of the PM Surya Ghar program.

SJVN plans to solarize government buildings associated with the ministries of Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, and Chemicals & Fertilizers.

Bidders have to pay ₹5,900 (~$70.52) as the cost of the document fee and another ₹5,000 (~$59.7) +18% GST as the bid processing fee.

Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹1000 (~$11.95)/kW

Bidders can avail of fiscal incentives such as Accelerated Depreciation, Concessional Customs and Excise Duties, Tax Holidays, and other benefits available for rooftop solar projects. However, these incentives will not influence the comparison of bids during the selection process.

No government financial assistance will be provided under the rooftop solar program for government buildings.

Recently, SJVN invited bids to develop 1,200 MW Inter-State Transmission System-connected solar projects with 600 MW/2400 MWh energy storage systems under tariff-based competitive bidding.

In April, SJVN Green Energy invited bids to commission a 100 MW solar project in the Didwana-Kuchaman District of Rajasthan.
