The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy has appointed SJVN as the Scheme Implementation Partner to help implement grid-connected rooftop solar projects for government buildings and assets. The ministry plans to cover all government buildings nationwide under the PM Surya Ghar program by December 2025. Central public sector enterprises, including SJVN, are in charge of deploying the rooftop solar systems on government buildings.
Recently, SJVN issued a request for selection for the development of a 375 MW/1,500 MWh standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) in Uttar Pradesh under the build-own-operate model. The project has a viability gap in funding support from the central government. The scope of work includes the design, financing, engineering, procurement, construction, operation, and maintenance of the BESS project.
