Hydropower Generator SJVN Seeks to Empanel EPC Companies to Develop Solar Projects

Government-owned hydropower generator, SJVN, has issued a tender to empanel experienced solar engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) companies.

The empaneled vendors are also expected to provide operation and maintenance (O&M) services for a period ranging from five to ten years after the commissioning of the project.

The empanelment will be carried out in the following categories:

Prospective bidders who want to get empanelled under category A should have installed and commissioned at least one solar project (single EPC contract) of an individual capacity of 12 MW or more during the last seven years. Bidders are also expected to have O&M experience for similar-sized projects.

Prospective bidders who want to get empanelled under category B should have installed and commissioned at least one solar PV project (single EPC contract) of an individual capacity of 25 MW or more during the last seven years. Bidders are also expected to have O&M experience for similar-sized projects.

Prospective bidders who want to get empanelled under category C should have installed and commissioned at least one solar PV project (single EPC contract) of an individual capacity of 50 MW or more during the last seven years. Bidders are also expected to have O&M experience for similar-sized projects.

Bidders do not have to submit any earnest money deposit to participate in this tender.

The bid submission deadline for this tender is October 18, 2019.

Recently, Mercom reported that NHDC, another government-owned hydropower generator, was on the lookout for an EPC contractor to set up 25 MW of floating solar PV capacity. The company wants to develop a 12 MW and a 13 MW (total 25 MW) floating solar PV project on the Omkareshwar reservoir in Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh.
