The tender was floated in February this year
June 14, 2024
Juniper Green Energy, Asurarai Renewables (UPC Renewables), AMPIN Energy, Adyant Enersol (Datta Infra), JSW Energy, and Avaada Energy were declared winners in Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) auction to develop 1,200 MW of interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected wind-solar hybrid power projects (Tranche VIII).
Juniper quoted the lowest tariff of ₹3.43 (~$0.0411)/kWh to win 150 MW.
UPC, JSW, AMPIN, and Datta each quoted a tariff of ₹3.45 (~$0.0413)/kWh to win 300 MW, 300 MW, 150 MW, and 60 MW, respectively.
Avaada won 240 MW out of the quoted capacity of 600 MW at a tariff of ₹3.46 (~$0.0414)/kWh under the bucket-filling method.
The tender was floated in February.
The projects must be commissioned within 24 months of the power purchase agreement (PPA) signing date.
Under this tender, a hybrid power project will mean a project comprising two components – one solar and one wind power project. The rated installed project capacity of either of the two components should be at least 33% of the contracted capacity.
The declared annual capacity utilization factor (CUF) should not be less than 30%. The developer should maintain the energy supply to achieve an annual supply corresponding to CUF that is not less than 90% of the declared value and not more than 120% of the declared CUF value during the PPA duration of 25 years.
Only wind turbine models from the Revised List of Models and Manufacturers and solar modules registered in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers issued by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy will be allowed for deployment.
NTPC Renewable Energy, Juniper Green Energy, and Sembcorp had won SECI’s tranche VII wind-solar hybrid auction.
Recently, SECI has invited bids to select wind power developers to set up 500 MW ISTS-connected projects anywhere in India Tranche-XVII.
