SECI Tenders 2 MW of Solar for Kolkata Port Trust

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) tendered a 2 MW solar PV project to be constructed at the Haldia dock complex on behalf of the Kolkata Port Trust. The bid-submission deadline is February 21, 2017.

The scope of work includes, design, engineering, procurement, supply, construction, erection, testing, commissioning, developing associated transmission system. The successful developer will have to provide comprehensive operation and maintenance of the project for 10 years.

Major ports in India are setting up solar projects to become energy self-sufficient under SECI’s port solarization program. A total of 2.32 MW of solar rooftop is expected to be installed on the Kolkata Port Trust; a 100 kW system is already installed and another 150 kW is expected to be commissioned by March 2017.

According to Mercom’s India Solar Project Tracker, solar projects with a cumulative capacity of 10.6 MW out of the proposed 82.6 MW have been commissioned at major ports across India.
