SECI Invites Bids for 8.9 MW Rooftop Solar Projects at Navodaya Vidyalayas

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has invited bids to set up 8,900 kW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects on Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya’s buildings under the renewable energy service company (RESCO) mode (RTSPV Tranche VI) in 13 states/union territories.

Bids must be submitted by January 19, 2026. Bids must be opened by January 22.

Bidders must furnish a bid processing fee of ₹6,000 (~$67.61).

They can participate in at least one project or bid for the entire 8,900 kW capacity.

The scope of work encompasses the design, engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning of rooftop solar systems, as well as grid connectivity and net-metering approvals with the respective power distribution companies.

Bidders will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the projects for the entire 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) term, including replacement of modules, inverters, and spares, as well as insurance and meeting annual capacity utilization factor (CUF) performance guarantees.

The minimum CUF required is 15% for Category A projects and 13.5% for Category B projects.

Category A projects should be commissioned within 9 months of PPA signing, while Category B projects should be commissioned within 12 months of PPA signing.

Bidders must have experience in the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of grid-connected solar projects.

All modules and cells used must comply with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) List-I and List-II.

Recently, SECI issued a request for selection to install 13,043 kW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects on government buildings in Puducherry (Tranche V).

SECI also invited bids to install 3,640 kW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects spread across 11 government institutions in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Odisha, and Uttarakhand (Tranche IV).
