SECI Opens Financial Bids for 13 MW of Grid-Connected Solar Projects

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has opened the financial bids to develop 13 MW of grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) projects in two separate auctions.
SECI tendered an 8 MW grid-connected rooftop solar PV project for Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. Chloride Power Systems and Solution Ltd, with Solon India have emerged as the lowest (L1) bidder by quoting ₹373.8 Million (~$5.8 Million) for engineering procurement construction (EPC) and five years’ operation & maintenance (O&M) of the project.
An official at SECI confirmed the selection of L1 bidders. The official said for the 8 MW rooftop solar project, the capacities to be awarded are yet to be decided.
When contacted an executive at Chloride Power systems and Solution Ltd said, “We have been informed by the SECI that we are one of the L1 bidders for this auction. The capacity has not been finalized as there are two L1 bidders. We will hold a discussion, and then can we comment on the capacity that we will be developing.”
SECI tendered a 5 MW grid-connected solar project under the DCR category in Telangana on behalf of Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL). Vikram Solar emerged as the lowest (L1) bidder by quoting ₹311.1 Million (~$4.8 Million) for EPC and five years’ O&M.
A Vikram Solar executive confirmed the development and said we were sure of winning this auction.
Mercom previously reported the release of the final list of successful bidders/installers who won bids to develop rooftop solar projects in the 500 MW rooftop solar auction conducted by SECI.
