The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI)  has extended the bid submission deadline for 129 MW (AC) of solar PV power projects which are to be developed at various locations of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) located in the state of Telangana.

The bid submission deadline has been extended to October 11, 2018. The bid will open on the same day.

This is the second bid extension for the project. Previously, SECI had extended the bid submission deadline to October 1, 2018.

“Bid submission deadline has been extended in response to bidders’ request. The other reason for the extension is that there not enough bidders for the project”, said a SECI official when contacted by Mercom India.

The scope of work includes the design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing, commissioning, and operation and maintenance (O&M) of the solar projects.

Earlier, Mercom reported that SECI issued a tender to award the engineering procurement construction (EPC) contracts for development of 150 MW solar PV capacity spread across various locations of SCCL. This was a domestic competitive bidding tender.

The capacity was reduced from 150 MW to 129 MW after the owner, SCCL, requested SECI for the same.

In recent times, SECI has extended the bid submission deadline for many tenders. For example, it recently extended the bid submission deadline for setting up of 10 GW of ISTS connected solar PV power projects linked with 3 GW (per annum) solar manufacturing capacity for the third time to October 12, 2018. The first bid submission deadline was August 27, 2018.

Similarly, it also extended the bid submission deadline recently for setting up 150 MW (50 MW x 3) of grid connected floating solar power projects at Rihand Dam (also known as Govind Ballabh Pant Sagar Reservoir), located in Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh.

In another extension, bid submission deadline for 160 MW solar-wind hybrid tender with storage (BESS) at Ramagiri, located in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh was extended to October 10, 2018 from October 1, 2018.
