SAEL Industries’ special purpose vehicle (SPV), Sunfree Energy RJP1, has commissioned a 200 MW solar power project in Jalore, Rajasthan.
The project was commissioned on August 17, 2025, ahead of its scheduled commercial operation date.
The company has signed a power purchase agreement with Rajasthan Urja Vikas and IT Services for 25 years at a tariff of ₹2.61(~$0.029)/kWh.
The solar project spanning over 1,000 acres utilizes advanced Tunnel Oxide Passivate Contact (TOPCon) solar modules in both 146-cell and 156-cell configurations. These cells have a peak output of up to 635 Wp and an efficiency of up to 22.95%.
SAEL said 80% of the solar modules installed at the project was sourced from its own module manufacturing facility in Kishangarh, Rajasthan.
Besides utility-scale solar solutions and module manufacturing, the company also develops agri waste-to-energy (Agri WTE) projects.
SAEL has a portfolio of 7.7 GW (DC) of solar independent power producer (IPP) assets across India, 3.5 GW of TOPCon solar module assembly, and 165 MW of Agri WTE.
The company is also setting up an integrated 5 GW solar cell and 5 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
In July 2025, SAEL Solar RE Power, a wholly owned subsidiary of SAEL Industries, commissioned a 50 MW solar power plant in Beed district, Maharashtra. In the same month, SAEL Industries won 300 MW at a tariff of ₹3.13 (~$0.0365)/kWh in NHPC’s 1.2 GW auction (Tranche-XI) to set up interstate transmission system-connected solar power projects with 600 MW/2,400 MWh energy storage systems.
In May 2025, SAEL Solar MHP, a subsidiary of SAEL Industries, secured debt finance of $132 million from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, the New Development Bank, and Société Générale to develop a 300 MW solar power project in Andhra Pradesh.
