In July 2019, REIL had invited bids for solar power projects of capacities ranging from 250 kW to 3.5 MW at various locations and sub-stations of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL). Under this project, REIL will establish small solar PV projects with capacities ranging between 250 kW to 3.5 MW on open or unused land at various locations and substations of MSEDCL. The land for the implementation of the proposed solar project will be provided to the contractors for project development.

In the same month, it had also announced a tender for manufacturing of 25,000 crystalline solar photovoltaic modules of 75 Wp.
