RECPDCL Tenders 4.5 GW ISTS Transmission Project in Andhra Pradesh

REC Power Development and Consultancy (RECPDCL) has issued a Request for Proposal to establish an interstate transmission system (ISTS) to evacuate 4.5 GW of power from Kurnool-IV Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) Phase 1 in Andhra Pradesh.

The last date to submit the bids is December 30, 2024. Bids will be opened the same day.

Bidders must submit a non-refundable fee of ₹500,000 (~$5,947).

The work must be completed within 24 months from the date of allocation.

The scope of work includes establishing, operating, and maintaining the project on a build, own, operating, and transferring (BOOT) basis.

The successful bidder must conduct the survey, formulate a detailed project report, arrange finance, manage the project, and secure consents, clearances, and permits. It will also be responsible for compensation, design, engineering, equipment, material, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning.

Bidders can also be a consortium of companies, with one of the companies acting as the lead member.

Bidders must have experience developing projects in the infrastructure sector in the last five years, with an aggregate capital expenditure of at least ₹31.55 billion (~$375.2 million). Each project’s capital expenditure must not be less than ₹6.31 billion (~$7.51 million).

Their net worth should have been at ₹12.61 billion (~$150 million) in the last three financial years and should not have been negative.

Earlier this month, the company invited bids to select a transmission service provider to set up an ISTS to augment transformation capacity at Khavda Power Station 1 (KPS1) and  KPS2 in Gujarat (Phase-V Part B1 and Part B2 Program).

It also tendered an ISTS to augment transformation capacity at Banaskantha (Raghanesda), Gujarat.

The company invited bids for a network expansion program in the western region to accommodate 1.5 GW of power from pumped hydro storage projects near Talegaon in Pune, Maharashtra.
