TREDCO Rajasthan, a joint venture between THDC India and Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation, has invited bids to engage consultants to acquire land to develop 2,000 MW ultra mega renewable energy parks in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, under the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy’s solar park program.

Bidders who were prequalified in the empanelment tender issued by THDC India in July last year are eligible to participate in the bidding process.

The work must be completed within 180 days.

The last day to submit the bids is July 6, 2024. Bids will be opened on July 8.

Bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of ₹59,000 (~$706).

Selected bidders must furnish an amount equivalent to 10% of the contract price at least seven days before signing the contract, which will not be later than 15 days after the issue of the letter of award.

TREDCO Rajasthan aims to develop a 2,000 MW solar park, requiring approximately 4,000 hectares of government land. The company is in the advanced stages of land allotment and expects to secure the land soon.

TREDCO needs encumbrance-free land and undertakes tasks like due diligence, land boundaries, and coordination with various government departments and stakeholders. This includes working with Rajasthan’s Revenue Department, the Colonization Department of Bikaner, land aggregators, and local communities to resolve land-related issues.

In April 2022, THDC India signed a memorandum of understanding with Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation to develop large solar power projects with a combined capacity of 10 GW.

Last December, Saurya Urja Company of Rajasthan (SUCRL) invited expressions of interest to empanel land aggregators or facilitators to acquire private land on lease for a 700 MW solar park. SUCRL, a joint venture between the Rajasthan government and IL&FS Energy Development Company, was established in 2015 to develop 5,000 MW of solar parks in Rajasthan.
