Hyderabad-based solar module and cell manufacturer, Premier Energies, has announced the commissioning of a 400 MW solar photovoltaic cell (Mono PERC) manufacturing facility at its E-City plant in Maheshwaram, Telangana, through its wholly owned subsidiary, Premier Energies Photovoltaic.
The commissioning is part of the expansion of its existing facility.
Premier Energies said that after commissioning this line, its operational solar cell capacity now stands at 3.6 GW, indicating a ramp-up in its manufacturing footprint with 6.8 GW under construction.
The company has a solar module manufacturing capacity of 5.1 GW, with a 6 GW module line under construction.
Premier Energies reported a revenue of ₹18.37 billion (~$208.5 million) in the second quarter (Q2) of the financial year (FY) 2026, a 20.3% year-over-year (YoY) increase from ₹15.27 billion (~$173.3 million). The company attributed this increase to higher operational efficiency, improved product mix, and steady domestic demand.
Recently, the company secured orders valued at ₹23.07 billion (~$255.84 million) during Q3 of FY 2026 to supply solar cells and modules to a mix of domestic independent power producers and other customers in India. The company will execute the orders during FY 2027 and FY 2028.
Premier Energies said these orders will provide sustained revenue visibility and support its ongoing expansion plans to reach 10.6 GW of solar cell capacity and 11.1 GW of module capacity by September 2026.
Earlier, Premier Energies had won contracts worth $19.95 million to supply and install solar systems in Benin, West Africa. Premier Energies will install 750 rooftop solar systems at designated socio-community facilities, including district police stations, educational institutions, health centers, and special border surveillance units. It will also install more than 4,400 high-efficiency solar streetlights and 650 solar water heaters.
In the first half (1H) of 2025, 44.2 GW of solar modules and 7.5 GW of solar cell manufacturing capacity were added in India, according to Mercom’s State of Solar PV Manufacturing in India 1H 2025 report.
