The Ministry of Power has authorized three renewable energy companies to lay overhead transmission lines to connect 650 MW of renewable energy projects in Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh.

The authorizations were granted under Section 164 of the Electricity Act, 2003, giving the companies powers similar to those of a telegraph authority under the Indian Telegraph Act, 1885, for placing transmission lines and posts.

ABC CT RE Park (01) received authorization to lay an overhead transmission line to connect its 250 MW wind power project in the Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh.

The company will lay a 400 kV single-circuit line on double-circuit towers. The line will connect ABC CT RE Park’s intermediate substation at the generation switchyard in Hebbatam village, Holagunda taluk, Kurnool district, to ABC Cleantech’s pooling station at the generation switchyard in Yedavali village, Maddikera taluk, Kurnool district.

Litsolaire Energy received authorization to construct an overhead transmission line to connect its proposed 100 MW solar power project in Bikaner, Rajasthan.

The company will lay a 220 kV single-circuit line on double-circuit towers from its generation pooling station at Bhanipura village in Bikaner district to ReNew Dinkar Urja’s solar plant pooling substation at Kawani village in Bikaner. The total line length is about 19 km.

Furies Solren received authorization for the overhead transmission line linked to its 300 MW solar power project in Bikaner, Rajasthan.

The company will lay a 220 kV single-circuit line on double-circuit towers from its solar project generation switchyard at Chhatargarh village in Bikaner district to the Bikaner-IV inter-state transmission system pooling station.

The Ministry had earlier granted prior approval under Section 68(1) of the Electricity Act for all three overhead transmission lines.

The authorizations are valid for 25 years. The companies must obtain consent from local bodies, Railways, national and state highways authorities before erecting the proposed lines.

They must also comply with regulations and codes issued by the appropriate commission on transmission, operation and maintenance, and open access.

The companies can operate the lines only after approval from the Electrical Inspector or the Chief Electrical Inspector of the central government. They must also submit required clearances from authorities such as Civil Aviation and Defence to the Central Electricity Authority at the time of electrical.

The Ministry had recently decided to eliminate the requirement for Power Telecom Coordination Committee clearance for transmission lines from July 1, 2026, to reduce delays in project execution.

The Rajasthan authorizations include conditions related to the Great Indian Bustard. Litsolaire Energy and Furies Solren submitted undertakings stating that their proposed overhead transmission line routes are outside the revised Great Indian Bustard priority area of Rajasthan and Gujarat.

Both companies also undertook to comply with the Supreme Court’s December 2025 directions. The Ministry said that if any part of the routes falls within the revised Great Indian Bustard area, the companies must comply with the Supreme Court’s directions.
