Odisha Floats Tender for 2 MW Ground-Mounted and Rooftop Solar Projects

Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) has invited bids for the installation and commissioning of 2 MW grid-connected ground-mounted or rooftop solar power projects at different coal mines of OMC.

The projects include 1.61 MW of ground-mounted solar projects with more than 100 kWp capacity and 390 kW of ground-mounted and rooftop solar projects with less than 100 kWp capacity.

The successful bidder must also take care of the project’s operation and maintenance (O&M) for ten years.

The last date to submit the bids is September 21, 2023. Bids will be opened on the same day.

For solar capacity greater than 100 kW, bidders will have to submit ₹1.51 million (~$18,170) as an earnest money deposit (EMD). For a capacity less than 100 kW, the EMD will be ₹500,000 (~$6,017).

Bidders must also furnish 10% of the total contract value as a performance security.

OMC 2 MW Tender

For ground-mounted projects of capacity >100 kW: Bidders must have experience in executing three similar projects of capacity not less than 120 kW each, two similar projects of capacity not less than 150 kW each, or a single project of capacity not less than 240 kW each during the last five financial years.

They should have an average financial turnover of ₹100 million (~$1.21 million) during the last three financial years. Their net worth in each of the last three financial years should be positive. Bidders should submit a solvency certificate issued by any nationalized or scheduled commercial bank for an amount not less than ₹14 million (~$168,474).

For ground-mounted and rooftop solar projects of capacity < 100 kW: Bidders must have executed three similar projects of at least 40 kW capacity each or two similar projects of at least 50 kW each, or a single project of at least 80 kW capacity during the last five financial years.

They should have an average financial turnover of ₹30 million (~$361.017) during the last three financial years. Their net worth in each of the last three financial years should be positive.

The solar modules should have a performance warranty of at least 90% at the end of the 10th year and 80% at the end of the 25th year of operation from the project’s commissioning date.

Last December, Mahanadi Coalfields, a subsidiary of Coal India, had invited bids for installing and commissioning 2.5 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems with net metering arrangements on residential and non-residential buildings in Odisha.
