The NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam (NVVN) has floated a tender to set up 1,250 kW of rooftop solar projects across multiple facilities of Bharat Earth Movers in Karnataka and Kerala.
Selected bidders must install rooftop projects of 530 MW and 270 MW, respectively, at BEML’s Kolar and Mysore facilities in Karnataka. They must also install a 450 MW rooftop solar project at BEML Palakkad in Kerala.
Bids must be submitted by February 5, 2026. Bids will be opened on February 6.
Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹1 million (~$11,007.06).
Successful bidders must submit a performance guarantee of 10% of the contract value.
The scope of work entails the design, engineering, installation, testing, and commissioning of the rooftop solar projects. It also involves providing operation and maintenance (O&M) services for 10 years.
Selected bidders must install the solar projects at shadow free areas. They must undertake the preliminary roof visual assessment, determine the optical capacity for the projects, and provide the water, electricity, and arrangements.
Successful bidders must provide the project equipment, including the structural steel. They must also undertake the civil works for the solar projects.
Additionally, they must provide labor, materials, spare parts, equipment transportation and storage, and accessories.
Selected bidders must obtain all permits, approvals, and licenses from local, state, and national authorities, as well as from public sector undertakings, for the projects.
Only solar modules from the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) List-I and cells from the ALMM List-II must be used.
Rooftop solar projects at all three locations must demonstrate a capacity utilization factor (CUF) of 18%.
The projects must be completed within 210 days.
Delay in project commissioning will result in liquidated damages of 0.5% of the contract value per week, capped at 10%. Non-compliance with the CUF and O&M requirements will also attract penalties.
Bidders must be Class-I or Class-II local suppliers.
Recently, NVVN invited bids to install 7,000 kW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems at National Aluminium Company’s Angul and Damanjodi facilities in Odisha.
