November 14, 2016
The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has invited bids to develop solar PV systems in the villages of Naiparam and Chatti Garilong in Jharkhand. The bids will be selected through domestic competitive bidding. The last day for bid-submission is December 9, 2016. The scope of work includes the electrification of 60 houses in Naiparam village and 50 houses in Chatti Garilong village.
The NTPC has mandated that the bidder should have executed a similar contract in the last seven years with either of the following executed value(s) of the contract(s): a single order of value not less than Rs.8.65 million (~$127,557), or two orders of value not less than Rs.5.4 million (~$79,724) each, or three orders of value not less than Rs.4.32 million (~$63,770) each. The bidder should also be a manufacturer of solar PV modules approved by Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) or any nodal agency.
An NTPC official told Mercom that the total solar capacity to be developed for these projects is small and bidders would be signing the contract on an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis.
