NTPC Renewable Energy, a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC, has invited bids for implementing land and extra high voltage (EHV) transmission system package for the development of Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) connected solar power projects of up to 1 GW in the Bhuj region of Gujarat.

The last date for the submission of bids is November 28, 2023. Bids will be opened on the same day.

The individual bidders must offer a minimum capacity of 300 MW, and they can increase their bid in increments of 100 MW, up to a maximum of 1GW.

NTPC Renewable Energy plans to fund this package using its resources or by borrowing.

Bidders have to pay ₹22,500 (~$270.5) as the cost of the bidding documents.

The bidder must have a track record of executing grid-connected solar projects, solar parks, wind projects, wind parks, or a combination of these with a combined capacity of 100 MW or more. Among these projects, at least one should have a capacity of 50 MW or more.

The bidder should have successfully secured land for the project(s) and obtained technical feasibility approval for power evacuation through the State Transmission Utility (STU) or ISTS substation.

The average annual turnover of the bidder for any three out of the preceding five financial years as of the date of the opening of the techno-commercial bid, should not fall below the financial threshold specified below.

The minimum financial figure for a quoted capacity of 50 MW to 300 MW is ₹150 million (~$1.8 million).

For a quoted capacity exceeding 300 MW, the financial requirement is ₹500,000 (~$6,011)/MW, calculated based on the total quoted capacity in MW.

The bidder should have a positive net worth as of the last day of the preceding financial year.

Earlier, NTPC Renewable Energy had issued a tender for the design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, installation, and commissioning of a 250 MW/500 MWh grid-connected standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) near Fatehgarh-III ISTS substation in Rajasthan.
