The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has issued a tender for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of a 10 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) project that is under operation at its Unchahar plant in Uttar Pradesh.

This is a domestic competitive bidding tender and the bid submission deadline is May 10, 2019.

This is a service contract and the bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of ₹200,000 (~$2855.30). Small-scale Industries registered for similar work with the National Small-Scale Industries Corporation will be exempted from the payment of the deposit. Small-scale industry units registered with the state are also entitled to the exemption.

One of the criteria for the selection is that during the last seven years, the bidder should have successfully executed installation and commissioning work or the operation and maintenance work of at least one project of 5 MW and above.

When contacted, an NTPC official told Mercom, “The panels at the site need to be cleaned, and a few might need to be replaced. Besides, there can be a few other supply items which the successful bidder must supply as part of the contract.”

The contract completion tenure is two years.

Recently, the NTPC issued another tender for the operation and maintenance of power evacuation system of Rajgarh solar project located in Madhya Pradesh for two years. The estimated cost of work is ₹3.73 million (~$0.05 million).

NTPC has lately issued many tenders, like for the enlistment for inverter-transformer, for EPC companies to develop floating solar projects, and for solar module suppliers and manufacturers.

In January 2019, it issued a tender for a 20 MW grid-connected floating solar project at its Anta gas power station in Rajasthan.
