NTPC Renewables Floats EPC Tender for 550 MW Solar Project in Rajasthan

NTPC Renewable Energy (NTPC REL) has issued an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) tender to set up a 550 MW grid-connected solar project near Shimbhoo Ka Bur in Rajasthan.

Bids must be submitted by June 26, 2026. Bids will be opened on the same day.

Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹200 million (~$2.1 million).

The scope of work entails the designing, engineering, manufacturing, installation, testing, and commissioning of the solar project. It also involves providing operation and maintenance services for three years.

Selected bidders must undertake packing and forwarding, transport, and storage of the project equipment. They must also undertake grading and clearing of vegetation, a topographical survey, and a geotechnical investigation at the project site.

Successful bidders must also design and construct the solar system foundation, erect tracker-based module mounting structures for the solar project, and provide interconnection for the solar modules.

The scope of work also includes the provision of inverter or high-tension switchgear rooms, grid-interfacing works up to the 33 kV main pooling switchgear, supply and laying of HT cables, module cleaning systems, and internal roads.

It also involves the provision of supervisory control and data acquisition systems, weather-monitoring stations, dynamic reactive power compensation equipment, CCTV-based remote monitoring, and mandatory spares.

Bidders must meet any of the following requirements:

  • Bidders must have designed, erected/ supervised the erection, and commissioned/ supervised the commissioning of solar projects with a minimum cumulative installed capacity of 40 MW. At least one of these projects must have had a minimum capacity of 10 MW, and should have been operational for at least six months prior to the bid opening date
  • They must be developers of solar projects with a minimum cumulative installed capacity of 40 MW. At least one of these projects must have had a minimum capacity of 10 MW, which must have been operational for at least six months before the bid opening date
  • Bidders must have completed at least one industrial project with a minimum value of ₹3.11 billion (~$32.56 million) as a developer or an EPC contractor. The project could have been in the power, steel, oil and gas, petrochemicals, fertilizer, cement, coal mining, or other process industries. The project must have been operational for at least one year (for the industrial segment, other than renewable projects) or six months (for renewable projects).

Bidders must have executed at least one electrical substation, as a developer or an EPC contractor, of a minimum voltage level of 33 kV. The substation must include equipment such as circuit breakers and power transformers, with a minimum voltage rating of 33 kV. The substation must have been operational for at least one year (for the industrial segment other than renewable projects) or six months (for renewable projects) prior to the bid opening.

Bidders must have a minimum average annual turnover of ₹3.11 billion (~$32.56 million) during the last three financial years or as on the bid opening date.

Bidders must have a minimum net worth of 100% of their paid-up share capital as of the previous financial year.
