NTPC Renewable Energy (NTPC REL) has invited bids for the engineering, procurement, and construction of a 245 MW solar power project in Khavda Renewable Energy Park in Rann of Kutch, Gujarat.

The last date to submit bids is June 26, 2025. Bids will be opened on the same day.

Bidders must submit a bid security of ₹100 million (~$1.17 million) and a bid document fee of ₹22,500 (~$ 263.3).

The scope of work encompasses the design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, packing, forwarding, transportation, unloading, storage, installation, testing, and commissioning of solar power project in the South Block of the Khavda RE Park, Rann of Kutch.

Italso includes the supply of solar modules, grading and clearing of vegetation, topographical surveys, and geotechnical investigations

It includes the design and construction of the foundation, the erection of a tracker-based module mounting structure, and the fixing of solar modules on the module mounting structure.

Bidders must construct a pre-engineered type of inverter room with a power conditioning unit associated with low-tension and high-tension switchgear. They must build a pre-engineered high-tension switchgear room for the string inverter.

The project includes all associated electrical and civil works required for interfacing with the grid, as well as the evacuation of power to the 33 kV switchgear of the 33/400kV GIS substation through a 33kV cable.

It also covers the design, supply, and installation of the robotic module cleaning system.

Successful bidders must construct internal roads, pathways, a drainage system, internal and temporary fencing, and a security cabin required for the project.

The project must be equipped with a supervisory control and data acquisition system for remote monitoring and control of the inverters. It must include aweather monitoring station.

Successful bidders are responsible for the comprehensive operation and maintenance of the solar power project, including electrical equipment, consumables, and spare parts, for three years.

Bidders must have designed, supplied, erected/supervised the erection, and commissioned/supervised the commissioning for a grid-connected solar power project of at least a cumulative 40 MW. One of the projects must have a capacity of at least 10 MW. The individual project must have been operational for at least six months.

Alternatively, bidders must have developed a grid-connected solar power project with a capacity of at least 40 MW. One of the projects must have a capacity of at least 10 MW. The individual project must have been operational for at least six months.

Alternatively, they must have executed a single industrial project in the area of power/ steel/ oil and gas/ petrochemical/fertilizer/cement/coal mining, including a coal handling plant and/ or any other process industry as an EPC contractor or developer in the last ten years. The project cost must be at least ₹1.62 billion (~$18.95 million).

The project must have been operational for at least one year in a non-renewable energy sector and for six months in a renewable energy sector.

Additionally, bidders must have executed at least one electrical substation of at least 33 kV, consisting of equipment such as circuit breakers and power transformers with a voltage level of at least 33 kV, either as a developer or as an EPC contractor.

The substation must have been operational for at least one year for a project in a non-renewable energy sector and for six months for a project in a renewable energy sector.

Bidders must have a minimum annual turnover of ₹1.62 billion (~$18.95 million) in the last three financial years.

In April 2025, another subsidiary of NTPC, NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam, invited bids for the EPC of a 6 MW (2×3 MW) ground-mounted solar power project for Cement Corporation of India at its Tandur factory in Telangana.
