NTPC REL Tenders BoS Package for 1,200 MW Solar Project in Gujarat

NTPC Renewable Energy (NTPC REL) has invited bids for the balance of system (BoS) package for a 1,200 MW ISTS-connected solar project in the Rann of Kutch, Gujarat.

The last date to submit bids is January 14, 2025. The cost of the bidding document is ₹22,500 (~$265.6).

Bidders must furnish a bid security amount of ₹100 million (~$1.2 million) for one block (300 MW), ₹200 million (~$2.3 million) for two or three blocks, and ₹500 million (~$5.9 million) for four blocks.

The scope of work includes the design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, packing and forwarding, transportation, unloading storage, installation, testing, and commissioning of the projec, excluding the supply of solar modules. NTPC REL will supply the modules.

Bidders will also design, construct the foundation and erect Module Mounting Structure (MMS) with tracker-based technology for the modules. They will have to arrange the power and water supplies for construction purposes.

Bidders must be developed, designed, supplied, erected, or supervised the erection and commissioned or supervised the commissioning of BoS of grid-connected solar projects of a cumulative installed capacity of 40 MW. Out of these, at least one project should have been of 10 MW.

Alternatively, bidders should have executed, in the last ten years, an industrial project as a developer or as an EPC contractor in the area of power/steel/oil and gas/petrochemical/fertilizer/cement/coal mining, including coal handling plant and/ or any other process industry per the following:

  • ₹1 billion (~$11.81 million) for one block of 300 MW
  • ₹2 billion (~$23.61 million) for any two blocks of 600 MW
  • ₹3 billion (~$35.41 million) for any three blocks of 900 MW
  • ₹ 4 billion (~$47.22 million) for any four blocks of 1,200 MW

Bidders must have at least one year of experience in the operation of  industrial projects other than in the renewable energy sector and at least six months for projects in the renewable energy sector.

Additionally, bidders should have executed at least one electrical sub-station of 33 kV or above voltage level, consisting of equipment such as 33 kV or above voltage level circuit breakers and power transformer, either as developers or as EPC contractors.

The substation must be operational for at least one year or six months before the bid opening date.

The bidder must have an annual turnover of ₹1₹1 billion (~$11.81 million) for one block of 300 MW, ₹2 billion (~$23.61 million) for any two blocks of 600 MW, ₹3 billion (~$35.41 million) for any three blocks of 900 MW, and ₹ 4 billion (~$47.22 million) for any four blocks of 1200 MW.

NTPC REL also invited bids for the BoS package (excluding land and transmission system) of a 500 MW state transmission utility-connected solar power project in Bhadla, Rajasthan.
