NTPC Renewable Energy (NTPC REL) has invited bids for the land and power evacuation package to set up a 150 MW grid-connected solar photovoltaic power project in Bhadla, Rajasthan.

The last date to submit bids is April 10, 2024. Bids will be opened on the same day.

The scope of work includes acquiring 5 acres per MW of contiguous land on a freehold or leasehold basis near the Bhadla-II inter-state transmission system (ISTS) substation. The lease period must be for 29 years and 11 months. Government land will be a maximum of 10% of the total land.

The successful bidder must develop approach roads, carry out land leveling and fencing work, and obtain approvals for the felling of trees.

A new 220 kV/400 kV air-insulated pooling substation with associated equipment to evacuate 150 MW power from the solar project to the grid must also be installed. The successful bidder must design, construct, and commission an extra-high-voltage transmission line to connect the pooling substation to the Bhadla-II ISTS substation.

Bidders must have experience in executing at least 100 MW of grid-connected solar/wind power projects with land arrangement and obtaining grid connectivity approvals, of which at least one project should be of 50 MW or higher capacity.

The average annual turnover of the bidder, which must be a company or group of companies registered in India, should not be less than ₹144 million (~$1.74 million) for any three of the previous five financial years. The bidder should also have a positive net worth as of the last day of the preceding financial year.

NTPC also invited bids for retrofitting a solar inverter for the 5 MW solar photovoltaic power project at its Dadri thermal power plant in Uttar Pradesh.

Last month, it invited bids for the engineering, procurement, and construction of a 26 MW floating solar project at Reservoir 1B of NTPC Sipat Thermal Power Plant in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh.
