NTPC Renewable Energy (NTPC REL) has invited bids for the supply of crystalline bifacial modules for its upcoming solar projects in Lalitpur and Chitrakoot districts of Uttar Pradesh with a total capacity of 1,000 MW.

The modules must have a minimum rating of 570 Wp.

The project has been split into three main blocks: Lalitpur-1 and Lalitpur-2, each requiring 435 MW DC of modules, and Chitrakoot-1 requiring 580 MW DC. The total module capacity required is 1,450 MW DC, corresponding to a 1,000 MW solar project.

Bids must be submitted by August 19, 2025. Bids will be opened on the same day.

Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹100 million (~$1.16 million) for Lalitpur-1 or Lalitpur-2 individually (each 439.35 MW), ₹200 million (~$2.33 million) for all three blocks (totaling 1,464.5 MW), and a bid document fee of ₹22,500 (~$261.63).

The scope of work entails the manufacturing, supply, packing and forwarding, and transportation of the solar modules to the designated project sites. It also involves the supply of an extra 1% of the total module quantity as spares.

Modules must comply with List I of the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers.

Bidders must have manufactured and supplied at least 200 MW of modules or solar cells in any 12-month period during the last five years. One of these orders must have been for at least 50 MW.

Bidders must have a manufacturing capacity of 1.67 times the quoted capacity.

Bidders must have an average annual turnover required, calculated as the quoted capacity (in MW) multiplied by ₹2.44 million (~$28,372.09). They must have a net worth of at least 100% of their paid-up share capital.

Group, holding, or subsidiary companies can also bid through a joint undertaking. If applying as a group, each participating entity must have at least 75% of the required net worth.

Recently, NREL invited bids to set up a 2 MW green hydrogen generation system/electrolyzer for a green hydrogen mobility project at Sipat, Chhattisgarh.
