NTPC Renewable Energy (NTPC REL) has invited bids for a balance of system (BoS) package for interstate transmission-connected 900 MW wind energy project at Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh.

The last day to submit the bids is April 3, 2025. Bids open on the same day.

Bidders must submit a bidding fee of ₹15,000 (~$171.73). They must also furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹100 million (~$1.1 million) for 100 to 196 wind turbine generator (WTG) locations and ₹20 million (~$2.2 million) for 197 to 300 WTG locations.

The bidders’ scope of work includes the design, engineering, micro-siting, manufacturing, supply, erection, testing, commissioning, and demonstrating the guaranteed performance parameters for installing the wind project.

The scope of work also encompasses the 33 kV internal evacuation lines from the unit substation, the pooling substation, the central monitoring and control station, the wind monitoring masts, and the external EHV transmission line to the ISTS substation.

Bidders must acquire land for the project, roads, storage area, and pooling sub-station. The successful bidders must provide three years of comprehensive operation and maintenance services under the wind BoS package.

The project must be connected to Anantapur ISTS Sub-Station-II.

Bidders must satisfy at least one of the following conditions:

  • Bidders should have executed work for 40 MW or higher wind projects.
  • They should have completed an arrangement of land for grid-connected Solar PV or wind projects, or a combination of both, with a total capacity of 100 MW or more. Additionally, at least one of these projects should have a capacity of 50 MW or greater.
  • They should be grid-connected wind project developers with a cumulative installed capacity of 40 MW or higher, of which at least one project should have 10 MW or higher capacity at a single location.
  • They should have executed an industrial project in the last 10 years either as a developer or as an engineering, procurement, and construction contractor in power, steel, oil and gas, fertilizer or cement.
  • They should have executed at least one electrical substation of 33 kV or above.

The annual turnover of the bidders should be ₹754 million (~$8.6 million) for 50 MW to 300 MW and ₹241.3 million (~$2.7 million) for capacity over 300 MW.

Bidders must have a positive net worth in the last financial year.

In December 2024, NTPC REL invited bids for the BoS package for a 1,200 MW ISTS-connected solar project in the Rann of Kutch, Gujarat.
