NTPC Issues Tender for 150 MW of ISTS-Connected Wind Projects

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has invited bids to develop 150 MW of inter-state transmission system (ISTS)-connected wind power projects anywhere in India.

The last date to submit bids is February 24, 2022. Bids will be opened on the same day. The pre-bid meeting will take place on February 10.

Bidders need to furnish ₹100 million (~$1.33 million) as bid security.

The scope of work includes detailed design, engineering, micro-siting, manufacture, supply, erection, testing, commissioning, and installation of wind turbine generators, control panels, reactive power compensating devices, central monitoring and control system, wind monitoring masts.

After commissioning the projects, the successful bidder must provide comprehensive operation and maintenance for one year.

To participate in the competitive bidding process, bidders must have designed, supplied, and commissioned grid-connected wind power projects with 40 MW or above cumulative capacity. One project must have 10 MW or higher capacity at a single location and have been in successful operation for at least one year before the date of the techno-commercial bid opening.

Alternatively, the bidder must be a developer of grid-connected wind power projects with a cumulative installed capacity of 40 MW or above. Of this, one project should have 10 MW or higher capacity at a single location and have been in operation for at least one year prior to the date of the techno-commercial bid opening.

In the last ten years, bidders should have executed an industrial project as a developer or as an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract in the area of power, steel, oil and gas, petrochemical, fertilizer, or cement sector. The project’s value must be equal to or over ₹3 billion (~$40.16 million), and it should be in successful operation for at least one year before the date of techno-commercial bid opening.

Furthermore, the bidder should have executed one electrical substation of 33 kV or above voltage level, consisting of equipment like a circuit breaker and power transformer.

The average annual turnover of bidders must not be less than ₹3.1 billion (~$41.50 million) in the last three financial years.

In September 2021, NTPC Limited invited bids to develop 300 MW of ISTS-connected wind power projects anywhere in India.

According to Mercom’s India Solar Tender Tracker, NTPC Limited has invited bids to develop 2,900 MW of wind projects to date.
