NTPC Floats Balance of System Tender for 1 GW Solar Projects

NTPC Renewable Energy has invited bids for the balance of system (BoS) package with land for interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected solar projects up to 1,000 MW anywhere in India except Rajasthan with a greenshoe option for an additional 500 MW.

The successful bidder will also have to take care of the comprehensive operation and maintenance of the systems for three years.

The last day to submit the bids is March 21, 2023. Bids will be opened on the same day.

The cost of the bidding documents is ₹22,500 (~$275).

Bidders should have previously executed BoS of solar projects of cumulative capacity of 40 MW or higher, out of which at least one project should have been of 10 MW or higher capacity at a single location. The reference project must have been in operation for at least six months before the bid opening date.

Bidders who have commissioned solar projects of cumulative capacity of 40 MW or higher, out of which at least one project should have been of 10 MW or higher capacity at a single location, can also submit their bids. The reference project must have been operating for at least six months before the bid opening date.

Alternatively, bidders should have, in the last ten years, executed an industrial project either as a developer or an EPC contractor in the area of power, steel, oil & gas, petrochemical, fertilizer, cement, or any other process industry of a minimum value of ₹1 billion (~$12.26 million) for a total quoted capacity up to 300 MW, ₹3.05 billion (~$37.4 million) for 300 MW to 600 MW, ₹7.01 billion (~$85.94 million) for 600 MW to 900 MW and ₹13.2 billion (~$161.83 million) for 900 MW up to 1,200 MW.

They should have also previously executed at least one electrical substation of 33 kV or above voltage level, consisting of equipment such as 33 kV or above voltage level circuit breakers and power transformer, which should have been in operation for at least one year before the bid opening date.

The average annual turnover of bidders in any three of the last five financial years should not be less than ₹1 billion (~$12.26 million) for a total quoted capacity of up to 300 MW, ₹3.05 billion (~$37.4 million) for 300 MW to 600 MW, ₹7.01 billion (~$85.94 million) for 600 MW to 900 MW and ₹13.2 billion (~$161.83 million) for 900 MW up to 1200 MW.

They should have a positive net worth on the last day of the preceding financial year.

Earlier this month, NTPC Renewable Energy invited bids for a BoS package of ISTS-connected wind power projects of 1,000 MW capacity anywhere in Gujarat.
