NTPC Commissions 45 MW of Solar at the Bhadla Solar Park

The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has commissioned projects aggregating 45 MW at Bhadla solar park in Rajasthan. The NTPC announced that 25 MW of solar was commissioned on March 18, 2017, and another 20 MW of solar was commissioned on March 23, 2017.

Earlier this month, NTPC commissioned had 45 MW of at the park. Of the entire 260 MW, 205 MW have been commissioned.

Previously an NTPC official had told Mercom, the entire capacity of 260 MW had been divided into four projects of 65 MW each, and developers can break down their project capacities into blocks of 5 MW for commissioning purposes. The entire 260 MW is expected to be commissioned by the end of March 2017.

According to Mercom’s India Solar Project Tracker, the NTPC has a portfolio of 565 MW of commissioned solar projects, with an additional 305 MW to be commissioned by the end of March 2017.
