The Northeast Frontier Railway has tendered a 1 MW rooftop solar project in Bongaigaon, Assam. The project will be constructed at the Carriage & Wagon Workshop, Northeast Frontier Railway. The bid-submission deadline is April 11, 2017.

The project will be developed through a Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) on a design, build, finance, operate and transfer basis. The estimated project cost is Rs.75 million (~$1.12 million).

Power generated from the project will be utilized to fulfill power demand of Northeast Frontier Railway, stated a Northeast Frontier Railway official. The capacity has been tendered to address the railway’s contribution towards India’s rooftop solar program, added the official.
