Northeast Frontier Railway has floated a tender for setting up a 1 MW ground-mounted solar project at the CMM/NJP Store Depot campus in New Jalpaiguri, under the Katihar Division, West Bengal.

The project aims to generate an estimated 10.91 million kWh of power over the contract period.

The last date to submit the bids is January 5, 2026. Bids will be opened on the same day.

Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹1.06 million (~$11,748)/MW, and a tender document fee of ₹34,810 (~$383). The successful bidder must submit a performance bank guarantee of ₹1.60 million (~$17,622)/MW.

The scope of work includes the design, engineering, financing, procurement, civil and structural works, erection, installation, testing, commissioning, development of required high-tension and low-tension distribution and transmission lines, and generation and supply of power.

The successful bidder must carry out the operation and comprehensive maintenance of the project for 25 years from the date of commissioning.

The contract completion and commissioning period has been set at 240 days.

Bidders must have experience of either a minimum aggregated 200 kW of grid-connected solar systems as a developer or engineering, procurement, and construction contractor, or a minimum aggregated 1,000 kW of any grid-connected solar installations.

Bidders must have an average annual turnover of ₹15 million (~$165,000) over the last three financial years and a positive net worth in each of those years.

All modules and cells used must comply with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM).

In October this year, Northeast Frontier Railway floated two tenders for setting up 5 MW of ground-mounted solar projects in Alipurduar, West Bengal, under a public-private partnership. The projects will be set up at the Kanchan View colony (3 MW), Alipurduar junction, and near the junction’s powerhouse (2 MW).
