NLC India has invited bids for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of grid-connected solar projects with a cumulative capacity of 5 MW. The total capacity is divided into a 4 MW rooftop and a 1 MW floating solar component.

Bids must be submitted by May 24, 2025. Bids will be opened on the same day.

Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹2.97 million (~$34,870) and a tender document fee of ₹10,000 (~$117.40).

Successful bidders must submit a performance bank guarantee of 10% of the contract price, valid for three months beyond the warranty period. They must also submit an additional bank guarantee of 1% of the contract price to cover operations and maintenance (O&M).

The projects will be in the following zones:

  • Neyveli, Tamil Nadu (2.5 MW rooftop, 1 MW floating)
  • Barsingsar, Rajasthan (400 kW rooftop)
  • Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu (300 kW rooftop)
  • Ghatampur, Uttar Pradesh (800 kW rooftop)

The scope of work includes the design, engineering, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the projects. It also entails conducting performance guarantee tests.

The projects’ O&M period is five years.

The projects must be commissioned within nine months from the letter of award.

Project delays will attract a penalty of 0.5% price reduction per week of delay, capped at 5% of the total contract price (excluding O&M).

The projects must have a 12-month warranty period from the commissioning date. The performance guarantee test duration is 90 days and must be completed during the warranty period.

Successful bidders must use solar modules from the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers.

Bidders must have commissioned rooftop, floating, or ground-mounted solar projects with a minimum capacity of 400 kW, including at least one project of a minimum 40 kW capacity. This project must have been operating successfully for at least six months before the bid opening.

Bidders must have a positive net worth and a minimum average annual turnover of ₹60 million (~$704,400) over the last three financial years.

Recently, NLC India invited bids to commission a 4 MW proton exchange membrane electrolyzer-based green hydrogen project at Neyveli, Tamil Nadu.
