NHPC Issues Tender to Develop 50 MW Solar Project in Tamil Nadu

The National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) has issued a notice inviting tenders (NIT) to set up a 50 MW solar project in the Theni and Dindigul districts in Tamil Nadu. The NHPC has also mandated that the bidder should be a single entity to participate in the bidding.
The scope of work includes, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of 50 MW of grid connected solar PV projects (including evacuation arrangements) and comprehensive operation & maintenance for ten years.
The EPC contract will be awarded through a reverse auction. The bid-submission deadline is November 28, 2016. Land for the project will be provided by NHPC. The successful bidder must complete the projects within nine months from the date of issue of Notification of Award including commissioning period with a provision of incentive for commissioning before March 31, 2017 for availing viability gap funding (VGF).
According to Mercom’s India Solar Project Tracker, NHPC has a project pipeline of 100 MW, a 50 MW solar project in Uttar Pradesh and another 50 MW project in Tamil Nadu.
