The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has urged the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) to retain a separate deviation settlement mechanism (DSM) for renewable energy projects, arguing that wind and solar generators should not be treated on par with conventional power plants due to their inherently variable generation.
