The Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC), the state-owned power grid operator, signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Alcazar Energy to construct a 407-MW wind power project in the Zafarana region. The agreement was signed by Mona Rezk, Chairwoman of the EETC, and Mohamed Zidan, Senior Director of Alcazar Energy in Egypt, a sustainable infrastructure fund focused on utility-scale renewable energy projects in emerging markets, with an advisory team based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The project is projected to supply clean electricity to around 775,000 households and significantly reduce carbon emissions, with operations scheduled to commence in 2028.
