BYD Energy Storage secured a major contract from Masdar to supply battery energy storage systems for the round-the-clock (RTC) renewable energy project in Abu Dhabi. Jointly developed by Masdar and the Emirates Water and Electricity Company, the RTC project will combine a 5.2 GW solar project with a 19 GWh battery energy storage system. Under the contract, BYD Energy Storage will supply 11.275 GWh of its Haohan energy storage system for a single battery energy storage station with a capacity of 1,644 MW/11,275 MWh.

Alexandria Fertilizers Company (AlexFert), a subsidiary of Valmore Holding, signed a 30-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with SolarizEgypt to supply 1 MW of solar power to its production facility in Alexandria. Under the agreement, SolarizEgypt will finance, develop, own, operate, and maintain the solar project. The arrangement will enable AlexFert to procure clean and reliable electricity at a competitive price without making an upfront capital investment. The project is expected to generate approximately 1.58 GWh of clean electricity annually, reducing AlexFert’s reliance on the national grid by an estimated 4.2%. The partnership is part of AlexFert’s efforts to integrate renewable energy into its industrial operations while improving energy resilience, operational efficiency, and long-term competitiveness.

Saudi Arabia-based Mohammed Al-Harfi Company and the Syrian Electricity Company have signed PPAs to develop three solar energy projects in Syria’s Rif Dimashq province, with a combined capacity of 760 MW and battery energy storage capacity of 1,077 MWh. The projects will be developed in the Widyan Al-Rabie area. The PPAs have terms ranging from 20 to 25 years and will supply electricity at tariffs starting at $0.03/kWh.

German wind turbine manufacturer Nordex Group received an order from Türkerler Holding to supply and install 72 wind turbines in Türkiye, with a total capacity of approximately 525 MW. The contract covers Nordex’s N175/6.X turbines and includes a 10-year service agreement, with an option to extend the term to 25 years.
