The Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA) has issued two tenders for installing 1,098 kW of rooftop solar systems in Maharashtra’s Amravati and Yavatmal districts.

Bids must be submitted by January 14, 2025. Bids will be opened on 15 January.

Amravati Project (523 kW)

Bidders must submit an earnest money deposit (EMD) of ₹350,000 (~$4,210).

Selected bidders must complete the project within 120 days of the tender award.

The project’s estimated cost is ₹28.1 million (~$338,000).

Yavatmal Project (575 kW)

Bidders must submit an EMD of ₹400,000 (~$4,840).

Selected bidders must complete the project within 150 days of the tender award.

The project’s estimated cost is ₹31 million (~$373,000).

Bidders for both projects must submit a security deposit of 3% of the contract value. They must pay a non-refundable tender document fee of ₹29,500 (~$357) for each project.

Successful bidders must provide engineering, procurement, and construction services for the projects. They must provide comprehensive project maintenance for five years.

Successful bidders must survey, design, fabricate, supply, install, test, and commission the solar projects. They must install remote monitoring systems that meet the standards outlined by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company.

Successful bidders must install modules that adhere to the Bureau of Indian Standards or International Electrotechnical Commission certifications and are from the MNRE’s Approved List of Models and Manufacturers.

Bidders must have installed at least 1 MW of cumulative rooftop solar projects, with at least one project of 100 kW in the government or semi-government sector.

Bidders must have a minimum turnover of ₹30 million (~$363,000) for the Amravati project and ₹20 million (~$242,000) for the Yavatmal project over the last three years.

Bidders must have a service setup in Maharashtra to ensure timely project maintenance and repairs within 72 hours of reporting any issues.

Recently, MEDA invited bids for the survey, design, fabrication, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of 1,095 kW grid-connected, ground-mounted, and rooftop solar systems with net metering.

In June, MEDA floated bids to implement 10 MW grid-connected rooftop solar power systems in renewable energy service company (RESCO) mode on government sector buildings in the state.
