Lakshadweep Invites Bids for 2 MW Rooftop Solar Projects with Battery Storage

Lakshadweep Electricity Department has invited bids to install 2,107 kW of rooftop solar systems with a 3 kWh battery energy storage system for each kW on government buildings.
Bids must be submitted by April 10, 2025. Bids will be opened on the next day.
Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹4.62 million (~$52,992).
The successful bidder must furnish a security deposit equal to 5% of the contract value before signing the agreement.
The scope of work includes providing a five-year warranty for the rooftop solar systems. It also includes comprehensive operation and maintenance for an additional five years, with the option to extend it up to 25 years.
Bidders must have commissioned grid-connected solar projects totaling at least 2 MW over the last five financial years, including at least one 300 kW or higher project. This reference project should have operated for at least six months before the bid submission deadline.
Additionally, bidders who have executed an industrial project as a developer or EPC contractor in sectors such as power, steel, oil and gas, petrochemicals, fertilizers, cement, or coal mining with a minimum value of ₹100 million (~$1.15 million) in a single project within the last ten years may also participate. The project must have been operated for at least one year before the bid opening date.
Bidders must have an average annual financial turnover of at least ₹108.5 million (~$1.24 million) from solar or similar projects over the last three financial years.
They should not have incurred losses in more than two of the last five financial years.
They must also possess a certificate from a commercial bank amounting to ₹145 million (~$1.67 million) or a net worth certificate of at least ₹362 million (~$4.15 million) issued by a certified chartered accountant.
The solar modules used must be included in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers.
In June last year, Solar Energy Corporation of India invited bids to commission 1,385 kW of grid-connected solar power projects with 394 kW/1117 kWh of battery energy storage systems in Lakshadweep.
