Kolkata Port Invites Bids for 2 MW Solar Power Project at Haldia Dock

Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata (formerly Kolkata Port Trust) has invited bids for the design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning of a 2 MW grid-connected solar power project at Haldia Dock Complex.

The successful bidder will also be responsible for the ten-year comprehensive operation and maintenance.

The last date for the submission of bids is July 30, 2024.

The project’s estimated cost is ₹168 million (~$2.01 million).

Bidders must pay a non-refundable bid document fee of ₹2,950 (~$35.36) and  ₹2.6 million (~$32,149) as earnest money deposit to Haldia Dock Complex.

The engineering, procurement, and construction work must be completed in 14 months.

The defect liability, guarantee, and comprehensive operation and maintenance period is 120 months.

Successful bidders must submit a performance bank guarantee of 10% of the contract value.

The bidders’ average annual financial turnover for the last three years, ending on March 31, 2024, must be at least ₹50.4 million (~$604,832).

They must have completed similar work within the last seven years, ending on the last day of the month preceding the tender invitation. The required experience must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Three similar completed works, each with a contract value of at least ₹67.2 million (~$806,415).
  • Two similar completed works, each with a contract value of at least ₹84.08 million (~$1 million).
  • One similar completed work with a contract value of at least ₹134,542,172 (~$1.6 million).

“Similar work” refers to the design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning of ground-mounted solar power projects, with at least one project having a capacity of 1 MW or more, executed for the port sector, governments, public sector undertakings or other reputable organizations.

Recently, a government of India enterprise, Bridge and Roof Company (India), invited bids to set up a 2.3 MW grid-connected rooftop solar power project at the Khidirpore Dock II in Kolkata, West Bengal.
