The Karnataka Power Corporation (KPCL) has invited bids for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of a 3 MW solar project at Yapaladinni village in the Raichur district for one year.
The scope of work covers the O&M of all equipment installed at the solar project. Maintenance of foundation structures for all equipment, minor repairs, cleaning of solar modules, the control room, and the administrative building is also included in the contract.
The last date to submit bids is March 2, 2026. Bids will be opened the following day.
The successful bidder must furnish a performance guarantee equal to 5% of the contract value.
The contractor should guarantee a minimum annual generation of 2.453 million units (MMU) for the one-year O&M period. However, if any improvement work, such as the replacement of solar modules by the corporation, is undertaken, the minimum annual generation will be revised accordingly.
Penalty will be levied for any shortfall in the minimum guaranteed generation of 2.453 MU per annum at ₹6 (~$0.066)/kWh. Grid non-availability and major equipment failure will not be considered for any penalty. The penalty for non-achievement of guaranteed generation will be levied annually.
Also, a penalty of up to 10% of the contract value will be levied for the contractor’s failure to complete the O&M period of one year and for improper maintenance of the solar project. Penalty applicable will be levied at the end of the O&M period.
Last year, THDC India invited bids to set up 100.1 MW/135 MWp ground-mounted solar power projects at KPCL’s thermal projects in Bellary and Raichur, Karnataka. The project’s estimated cost was ₹4.1 billion (~$47.56 million).
Earlier, KPCL had floated a tender for O&M of a 10 MW solar project.
