Ceramic and vitrified tiles manufacturer Kajaria Ceramics has signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with Gurugram-based renewable energy solutions provider Sunsure Energy to procure 20 MW of solar and wind power for its manufacturing facilities in Rajasthan.

Under the agreement, Kajaria will procure power from 10 MW of solar and 10 MW of wind capacity that Sunsure will develop at its upcoming renewable energy project in Rajasthan’s Barmer district.

The power will be supplied to Kajaria’s manufacturing facilities in Gailpur and Alwar, enabling the company to increase the share of renewable energy in its operations and secure reliable power for its facilities.

The hybrid project is expected to supply 52.5 million units of renewable energy annually and help Kajaria offset approximately 42,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent greenhouse gas emissions each year.

The latest agreement is the second PPA between Kajaria and Sunsure. The companies signed a 7 MW solar PPA in 2023. With the new agreement, Kajaria’s total renewable energy capacity contracted from Sunsure has increased to 27 MW.

According to Kajaria’s Business Responsibility & Sustainability Report, the company operated 7.33 MW of rooftop solar capacity and sourced power from a 10.5 MW group captive solar project as of the financial year 2025, while also using wind power at its Gailpur plant.
