JSW Energy Reports 78% YoY Rise in Revenue in Q1 FY 2026

Independent power producer JSW Energy reported a revenue of ₹54.11 billion (~$620.58 million) in the first quarter (Q1) of the financial year (FY) 2026, an increase of 78% year-over-year (YoY) from ₹30.43 billion (~$349.01 million).
The rise in revenue was due to a combination of strategic acquisitions, capacity expansions, and higher generation across the thermal and renewable segments.
Over the last 12 months, JSW Energy added more than 3 GW of renewable energy capacity. Renewable energy generation rose by 54% YoY, contributing 4,990 million units (MUs) in Q1 FY 2026 compared to 3,242 MUs in Q1 FY 2025. The operating earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) from the renewable segment rose to 12.12 billion (~$139.01 million), up 56% YoY.
The O2 Power platform, acquired in April 2025, added 1.8 GW of installed capacity and contributed ₹2.44 billion (~$27.99 million) in revenue and ₹2.19 billion (~$25.11 million) in EBITDA in Q1 FY 2026.
JSW Energy’s acquisition of the 1,800 MW Mahanadi contributed 2,743 MUs of generation, ₹15.57 billion (~$178.56 million) in revenue, and ₹8.67 billion (~$99.44 million) in EBITDA this quarter.
JSW Energy’s EBITDA for Q1 rose by 93% YoY to ₹30.57 billion (~$350.68 million).
The company reported a quarterly net profit of ₹7.43 billion (~$85.23 million), a 42% YoY increase from ₹5.22 billion (~$59.89 million) in the same period of the previous year.
JSW’s earnings per share stood at ₹4.25 (~$0.049) compared to ₹3 (~$0.034) in the corresponding quarter last year.
JSW has an installed capacity of 3,562 MW of wind, 2,157 MW of solar, and 1,391 MW of hydropower. Approximately 2,447 MW of wind, 3,454 MW of solar, and 5,242 MW of hybrid power projects are under construction. The company also has a locked-in capacity of 3 GWh of battery storage and 26.4 GWh of pumped hydro project.
In March this year, JSW Neo Energy acquired a 100% stake in Virya Infrapower for ₹75.4 million (~$866,000) in an all-cash transaction. The acquisition was completed on March 12, 2025, the same day the share purchase agreement was signed.
JSW Energy reported a consolidated revenue of ₹126.39 billion (~$1.47 billion) in FY25. Its profit after tax reached ₹19.51 billion (~$223.74 million) while EBITDA came in at ₹61.15 billion (~$701.37 million).
